Intro and Chapter 1
Prologue: If the universe was on a 1 year calendar, more than half of the landmarks happened within the month of December, which is incredibly interesting because it helps put the age of the universe in a picture. Also, just thinking that the world has been around for 13.7 billion years is crazy to think about. For 3 billion years, life remained as single cell organisms. I thought it was interesting that the author could summarize the history of the human species, all in one long paragraph. Change, comparison, and connection are the three C's that mold world history. Chapter 1: Humans began as hunters and gatherers, we have survived this was for thousands of years. The Hadza tribe survived this way and still was living in 2014 this way. I would imagine that they are still living because if they have survived for so many years this way, I believe that they have mastered the practice.
